Chaplain Sharon Lloyd conducted the invocation.
Welcome to all by Tim Barker and guests were introduced.
There were 35 members and guests present.
A delicious meal with birthday cake was enjoyed by all.
Frank Lloyd mentioned that a donation was made to buy the extra hats so now they can be sold for $20.00. Frank also gave a status of the inventorying of the sub base’s museum boxes. He mentioned that there were stamps in the inventory that could possibly be sold to help support the base. He is working on box 20 and will be bringing some books to the next meeting to see if anyone would like them.
Central District Commander Vic Vanhorn, accompanied by his wife Janice, was in attendance at the meeting. Vic presented the base with a submarine plaque to be used as the base sees fit. Vic then asked all the officers of the base to come forward and be sworn in. He presented each officer with a coin that they will be passed on to the next elected officer at their position. Vic also announced that we could support a boat and have the submariner magazine sent to a boat or to individuals.
The base conducted the complete Tolling Ceremony.
It was announced that the Kap(SS) 4 Kid(SS) program at Children’s Hospital will begin again around the 1st of May.
Jim Tolson took Columbus baseball caps, glass plaques and Bravo Zulu certificates over to Freightliner in appreciation for the paint job they performed on the base’s submarine float. Freightliner was very appreciative of the gifts.
