To help the base make some money the base is selling metal dolphins with boat name/number like those that Vic Van Horn presented to the base. Price is $60.00 which includes shipping directly to the address of your choice. The base will get approximately $15.00 from each sell.
Clutch has the 2020 license sticker for the boat trailer.
Frank is going to bring in a jar of marbles and sell $2 tickets to guess how many marbles are in the jar. Whoever guesses closest to the number of marbles will get $25 worth of lottery tickets.
Frank is only selling 25 tickets. The drawing will be done when all the tickets are sold which could be at the next meeting.
Web site is up and running.
Todd Van Kirk – Had stroke in December, it did affect his moving and a little of his speech. He is in rehab, doing well and has a very good attitude. Would love more visitors. He is at the Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital 597 Executive Campus Drive, Westerville, Ohio 43082 room 149 off of Cleveland Avenue.
Russ Shaeffer – Still at Friendship Village for a little over or a week or more. Should be going home on January 14th.
Jim Tolson – Talked to Jim and Karla after they got home from the doctor. Tumor is getting larger and is not responding to treatments any more. Jim is very tired. Doctor recommended they get Hospice in so he can stay home. The thoughts and prayers of the base are with Jim and Karla as they stay positive in this fight.
Bob McDaniel is currently in the process of moving to Evanston, Indiana. Will be coming back Monday to get infusions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE leave instructions to next of kin or family members to contact Columbus Base if you should depart on Eternal Patrol. There have been a few times when we weren’t aware of a shipmate’s departure and therefore were not present to honor his memory and service at his memorial. Maybe we should pass out “In the event... “ cards with contact numbers?
Working on developing a form to be filled out telling who should be contacted and what funeral arrangements have been made. Once developed, Clutch will send out an email with the form to the base members to be filled out.
